Types of Banners

• Front-lit banners: Considered an industry standard, our most commonly used banners are made from front-lit vinyl material, also known as PVC. It is a high-quality, flame-retardant material compatible with our UV and eco-solvent printers. Banners can be made single-sided or double-sided, used both indoors and outdoors, and offer many finishing options for different applications
• Backlit banners: Backlit banners are created by illuminating the material from behind and are an alternative to plastic polycarbonate. They can be found on internally illuminated pole or pylon cabinet signs. Like polycarbonate, backlit banner material is translucent, allowing the printed design to be lit from behind at night. Unlike standard banner material, manufacturers have developed a weave that is almost invisible when backlit
• Mesh banners: Mesh banners are ideal for situations where the banner will be subject to windy conditions. The webbed vinyl material is porous, allowing wind, sound, and light to pass through. These banners are most commonly used outdoors, such as at festivals, sporting events, and on chain-link fences at construction sites. The decision to use a mesh banner is based on conditions. Because of the small holes in the material, the artwork appears muted or softer. Therefore, mesh banners should incorporate simple, bold designs with large text and high-contrast colors. Wind slits in a standard 13 oz. banner is an alternative to mesh when print quality is a priority. These slits are typically 3” or 4” half-circle cuts that allow wind to pass through
• Pole banners: Pole banners are popular among shopping centers, campuses, and municipalities. They are most commonly found in parking lots and along main roads and boulevards. Standard 13 oz. banner material is insufficient for seasonal weather, so pole banners use a uniquely woven 18 oz. material designed for two-sided applications and harsh weather conditions. Pole banners are made with reinforced pole pockets on both the top and bottom to accommodate flexible poles, which are part of a specialty hardware system that secures the banner to light or lamp posts
• Advertising flags: Advertising flags, also known as teardrop or feather flags, are another type of banner commonly seen in the marketplace and are an excellent solution for events and retail locations. These banners are made from 4 oz. polyester fabric, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and are scratch-resistant and washable. Flags are displayed using carbon composite poles and can be mounted directly into the ground with a ground spike or on hard surfaces using a square base or cross base
